Using InfoSignz you can start a digital signage network very easily. You do not
need to buy any special hardware or software. You probably already have most of
the things with you.
Here are step by step instructions on how to do this.
- Buy hardware - for every screen you want to put up, you would need a basic computer.
Click here to know the minimum configuration for the computers. Don't worry, the
computer needs to be only a very basic computer. The computer can have Windows or
Linux. Just make sure you have one of the two free Internet browsers - Internet
Explorer 6.0+ OR FireFox 2.0+. You do not need both.
- Connect the screen to the computer - just like you would connect your computer to
a monitor. Be sure you have the right cables (S video, HDMI, regular video out etc).
- Connect the computer to the Internet either wirelessly or through a physical cable.
- Open up the browser and point it to www.infosignz.com and login. Click on "My Locations".
Select the location that you want to publish here. This will open up in full screen
mode. If it does not, click here to get detailed instructions on how to do that.
You need to do this only once.
That is it. You are done. Now you can
- Control your location/screen remotely
- Update content in real time
- Show multiple media types on the screen at the same time
|
No. Absolutely not. All that we need is a basic computer connected to the Internet
and to a display screen of your choice. We do recommend a basic minimum configuration,
which can be found by clicking
here.
|
|
Yes, that is the entire purpose of using the InfoSignz platform.
|
No, not if you are a free user. But if you are a paid user, you might want to run
your screens using our Offline player that gives you enhanced control, better reporting
and improved screen performance. You can get more information on the offline player
by clicking here.

|
This service is free because we want to attract users to the concept of digital
signage. This is currently perceived to be a system that costs a lot of money. We
want to change that perception. Why, even email is free. Why can't digital signage
be free?
You will not need to pay anything for the free service at any time. We do not plan
to insert any advertisements in the screens that you run at this moment. You always
have the option to move to the paid service that gives you more ways to create compelling
messages for your audience, at the same time more control over your screens and
better reporting.
We will earn our money through the paid service. The free service, as mentioned
above, will remain free always.
|
|
The paid service will have enhanced file, playlist and location management features.
Apart from that, the paid service will also have enhanced interactivity features.
Again, we will make announcements as and when the services become available.
|
Here are the reasons to start paying up.
- Better performance, lower bandwidth costs Paid screens can run offline players.
That means that the media that they want to show will be cached locally and will
not be streamed everytime they are played. This really means that there will be
better performance and no bandwidth costs.
- More and better components There will be better and more components to show different
content types. There are certain components that are free, but then there are certain
components like a stock ticker, email interactivity and others that you can use
to create more compelling messaging and interactivity with your users.
- Better reporting You will have access to a better reporting set that you can share
with your customers.
- More storage and bandwidth transfer Those video files take up a lot of space. Paid
users get more storage and more bandwidth.
|
|
|
|
Yes, there is a one time registration fee. However, currently we are waiving that
fee for all customers.
|
To sign up for the paid service, first sign up for a free account. After that you
would need to sign up as a paid user.
Once you sign up as a paid user, you can add as many paid locations as you want.
So, the flow will look as follows.

You might have seen posters plastered over the walls in shops and department stores
trying to sell you the latest fashion or the showing you the best deal. These are
paper based posters. Now imagine instead of a paper, you have a screen that is dynamic,
changes with time and shows not one message, but a multitude of messages in different
formats – text, images, videos. That is digital signage.
These days the digital signages are generally LCD screens, but they could be any
kind of screen – LCD, plasma or CRT.
|
|
Digital Signage is fast becoming the medium of choice for advertisers and communicators
to show messages that are real time, dynamic and rich in content (images, videos).
If you have a captive audience in a shop or office or other public place that you
want to target, to effectively and efficiently up sell and cross sell either your
or other's products and services to in real time, you should use digital signage.
Digital signage is a path on the maturity model of posters in public places.

InfoSignz provides the software that is required to set up your digital signage
network. Having figured out the software is the biggest win in the digital signage
game as it is the central nervous system of the network. The other hardware components
can be easily procured at any local electronics or computer superstore.
InfoSignz also removes the need for buying, setting up and maintaining a server
and its software as that is taken care of InfoSignz. All that you need after that
is the same computer you are using right now to control you digital signage network.
|
The hardware required for setting up InfoSignz is as follows
|
• |
A basic computer with 1 GHz processor from Intel or AMD, with at least 1GHz RAM
and 40GB hard drive and a Ethernet LAN network connection or a wireless LAN card |
|
• |
A screen of any size and any type (LCD, plasma, CRT) to suit your budget and location
|
You can experiment with other configurations (lower or higher) to see which configuration
and type would suit your budget and performance needs.
|
|
We recommend that you get a high speed 1MBPS DSL connection. Anything lower than
that, again you would have to experiment and see if it works well.
|
|
We have no minimum requirements. We believe that digital signage should be for everyone.
We suggest that you start experimenting with the configuration that you have and
see if it works well.
